Our Story
1. Introduction: Purpose of Carifika Family Dynasties
Carifika Global aims to restructure and restore African family identity, governance, and heritage for Africans and people of African descent—especially those who are considered “Lost Africans.” Through the development of Family Dynasties, individuals and families will reclaim names, symbols, governance roles, and cultural practices, building a generational legacy.
2. What Is a Family Dynasty in Carifika?
A Family Dynasty in Carifika is a multigenerational, multi-branch family group of African descent registered within Carifika. Families can be within one country (Local Dynasty) or globally spread (Global Dynasty).
- Must have minimum 5 members registered to nominate for regional Carifika board roles
- Represents a household kingdom, based on African traditional governance and kinship
3. Purpose and Goals of the Family Dynasty Model
- Reconstruct African family identity
- Restore African names and heritage
- Strengthen family governance roles within Carifika
- Develop cultural continuity, including food, language, customs
- Empower future generations with identity and purpose
- Facilitate board and committee appointments rooted in legacy and structure
Name Restoration: African Surnames & Identity
Lost Africans may reclaim identity by:
- Researching their African lineage or desired origin
- Selecting an African surname reflective of values or region
- Seeking guidance from cultural advisors
- Phasing out colonial surnames over generations
Choosing Ancestral Country & Cultural Linkage
Participants must:
- Choose a country/region in Africa to descend from
- Provide a statement of connection and reference
- Use this region to guide name choice and cultural elements

Creation of Family Crest & Coat of Arms
Design your family’s identity symbol using African cultural symbolism such as:
- Adinkra (Ghana), Nsibidi (Nigeria), Berber (North Africa)
- Use mottos, symbols, and icons with ancestral meaning
Family Dynasty Registry Process
Complete the Family Dynasty Form and submit family details, member count, chosen surname, and crest design.
